Our Building Process
Plans:
If your plans are complete, we are ready to provide you with a detailed budget and a construction schedule. If you’re just getting started, we will work with you and your architect to design the home of your dreams. Along the way, we provide valuable engineering advice and suggest building assemblages that will help minimize costs while adding value to your investment.
Building a home is a complex undertaking. It is my professional belief that the structure of your home, the foundation, and the floor and roof systems should be designed by a licensed engineer. We work hand in hand with architects and engineers to ensure that your home is built to meet or exceed the national standards.
Specifications:
Some plans are extremely detailed and list every item to be included in the home. Other plans simply show basic construction layouts. We are experienced at working with either type of plan, or anything in-between. We will work with you to specify selections: exterior finishes, interior and exterior trim, interior and exterior flooring, tile, cabinets, counter tops and fixtures, and many other personal features included in your custom home.
Once your plans and specifications are finalized, we will provide you with an itemized budget. Realistic allowances will be used in place of selection decisions yet to be made. Our goal is for you to have a clear and accurate understanding of all costs, from start to finish.
Schedule:
Based on your approved plans and specifications, we will develop a construction schedule. The schedule will provide you with a timeframe of the construction process and let you know when you will need to make final decisions on your custom selections.
It is only after the plans, specifications, budget and schedule meet your approval that we proceed with a contract. The BrowneStone Homes Agreement is short, to the point and written to protect your interest and investment. This is not a one-sided contract favoring the builder.
Construction:
Once construction begins, we will work quickly and efficiently to complete your dream home. You will receive frequent progress reports, photographs and financial statements to keep you informed. We will ensure your expectations are met before final payment is made.
